The California State Commanders Veterans Council (CSCVC) is an umbrella group of 20 veterans service organizations, and other military service related organizations. Officers are elected from each organization’s representatives to the council. The CSCVC is composed of the California organizations of the American Indian Veterans Association, American Legion, American Retiree Association, AMVETS, American G.I. Forum, Association of the United States Army, CA Association of COunty Veteran Service Officers, Elite SDVOB, Fleet Reserve Association, Jewish War Veterans, LA National Cemetery Support Foundation, Marine Corps League, Military Order of the Purple Heart, National Guard Association of California, National Veterans Foundation, Paralyzed Veterans of America.
The purpose of the California State Veterans Commanders Council is to promote the rights and benefits of veterans in the State of California. For fifty years the Council has conducted advocacy efforts in the State Legislature concerning veterans rights, entitlements, and benefits. The Council conducts similar advocacy efforts with the California Department of Veterans Affairs, the California Veterans Board, and similar state agencies, boards and commissions, concerning veterans programs under the management of those agencies.
To achieve many of these goals, the council is actively involved in sponsoring and supporting legislation at the state level affecting California’s 1.8 million veterans as well as the active duty, Reserve, and National Guard components.
